Star Wars Shock Troopersby *rhymesyndicate

I like the design of the Shock Troopers from Revenge of the Sith... so I thought I'd draw some - and this is the result.

When I started this I also drew the Emperor in the background with his arms raised up to the sky shooting force lightning - as I'd imagined this scene taking place after they'd landed on Mustafar (the volcanic planet) - with him commanding the troops to "find Lord Vader". But... it kind of distracted from the Shock Troopers so I left him out. And I think the piece is better for it.

This is a low-res version of my drawing which I sketched on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and finished on my desktop PC using Photoshop and a Wacom pad. It's an original depiction of George Lucas’s / Disney’s copyright characters – intended solely to show my artistic ability. I’m not a professional – this is fan art – and none of my work is for sale or available for reproduction.

In a Clone Wars episode where Obi-Wan does an undercover assignment, several inmates start a prison riot and attack these guys so one of them says "Turn your weapons off stun! Kill the prisoners if you have to!"

Very interesting - and very fitting for these guys - as I guess they must be the baddest of the bad to be assigned personally to the Emperor! I haven't seen that episode - do you know which season it's from?

Wow! This piece definitely showcases your talent! I support your choice to leave the Emperor out -- I think having the troops along amid the flames is more powerful. Love the highlights from the fire, too. Great job!

Thanks Kelly :) - and for taking the time to read my description of this - you're the only person so far to comment on my decision to leave the Emperor out! And I'm glad you agree (he would have distracted from the effect of the troops)! :thumbsup: I guess for every piece of finished work on here (your's, mine or anyone else's) there's always a series of choices that lead to the final piece!
