I wanted to draw another Star Wars character - and thought that a Sandtrooper would give me the opportunity to play with some intense desert sunlight.

If you've seen Star Wars - you'll recognize that my inspiration for this piece is the "look sir... droids" scene.

I've drawn it from an angle not seen in the film - and like to think that this was just before the cameras started rolling.

Hope you like!

Very awesome my friend
I wonder if C-3P0's leg was replaced after the ring feel off because its silver instead of gold.

Hard to belive this is digital art cause it looks more like water colors or something like that. LOL
Either way looks great! Keep it up Vod'ika!

Thanks (and sorry for slow reply).

I watched the movie closely when I was planning to draw this - but couldn't tell what the piece was that fell off (but guessed it was from C-3PO) - so that's why I gave it a bit of added emphasis in my drawing. I know C-3PO had one gold leg and one silver (below the knee) - but without going back to watch the movies again I can't remember if the change happened on screen?

It looks like he has the Sarlac Pit's mouth on the bottom middle of his helmet. Excellent Job, btw. *Faves

I hadn't looked at this drawing in a while - so thanks for giving me an excuse to go back to it. Still not sure I could see the Sarlac's mouth... if only I had as vivid an imagination as you clearly possess! :) Thanks for the fav.

Unique concept. One could almost say a mix of "Lord of the Rings" (the One Ring) and "Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope." Very interesting...

Thanks for the thoughtful comment. If you look back at the scene in the movie - it's really kind of understated - for what is a fairly big plot point. I'm surprised there wasn't more 'drama' added to the search - and that's what I was trying to convey with this picture. I guess that's down to George Lucas's famed 'documentary style' of film making. And who am I to argue!
